About the event

Like a pebble thrown into a pond, each time we speak, email, or appear at a meeting, our voice ripples throughout the organization, influencing the way we relate, operate, and succeed together. In other words, your voice matters more than you know!

Typically, organizations assume that employees know where and how to bring their voice to work, but this hands-off approach comes with a great deal of risk. Without clarity, guidance, and tools to elevate your voice at Aitkin County, we’d also be missing an incredible opportunity!

In fact, Aitkin County is championing a radical shift in local government culture, by supporting and challenging all employees to expand their voice by engaging in open and honest conversations about where our organization is headed and how we do things, from our big goals down to the day-to-day details.

But since this is new, and many of us have not experienced this before, it will require new knowledge, tools, and guidance. It will also require patience with each other as we pay deeper attention to our everyday habits of communicating. Keeping this in mind, we’ll start at the very beginning by exploring the concept of voice and why it matters. Then we’ll move on to discuss how we can work together in dialogue, elevating each other’s voice in a way that leads to respect, well-being, and prosperity for all.
