This technique is part of the Applying Phase of SERA, in which the OD practitioner must find ways to help their client draw insights and tacit knowledge back into a conceptual form of awareness from which the individual or team may Apply insights through spontaneous behavioral change, thought experiments, or rapid prototyping.

As you experiment with new ways of incorporating this technique in the Apply phase, the goal is not to "overthink" what you are producing. Just go with the flow... this is a rapid prototype and is meant to be imperfect. Remind your participants that they an always reflect and analyze the idea later. More important than anything is helping them get out of their "own way" and just let the insights (from the Receiving phase) turn into representations that they can play with later.
